The Institute is the publisher of the classic The Elder Within: Source of Mature Masculinity and the new book Nagasawa: A Samurai in America. Both books were written by Terry Jones D. Min.
The Elderhood Institute is an educational organization devoted to the personal growth of men and women living in the second half of life. The model for this later life is the ancient elder who was devoted to mentoring the young, being a source of blessing, being a source of wisdom and telling stories about ones family.

Terry Jones
Terry Jones retired from a career in mental health treatment in 2005. His first book, Kanaye Nagasawa, a Biography of a Satsuma Student, was published in Kagoshima, Japan in 1990. Next came The Elder Within: Source of Mature Masculinity published in the USA in 2001. Jones obtained a Doctorate in Ministry in 2005 to deepen his journey into the study of spirituality and completed his book Elder: A Spiritual Alternative to Being Elderly. At 82 years of age Jones resides in Olympia, Washington.
